Maple Leaf Marinas (“MLM”) is the largest owner and operator of marinas, marine resorts, and boat dealerships in Canada. MLM’s fast growing portfolio comprises 21 locations throughout the Lake Simcoe, Georgian Bay and Muskoka Regions.
We are seeking an Accounts Payable/ Receivable Specialist to join our team at Gordon Bay Marine.
This is a full-time position with competitive pay and potential for benefits package.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable and Receivables Specialist to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for managing both incoming and outgoing financial processing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with accurate GL coding.
- Match inventory purchase orders to corresponding invoices.
- Submit all invoices for proper approval prior to payment.
- Coordinate with managers to ensure payables are processed within required deadlines.
- Print and process customized checks; mail payments to vendors.
- Reconcile vendor statements against invoices on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile company credit card and debit card statements monthly.
- Address and resolve vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- File all AP documentation in an organized and timely manner.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Record customer payments via checks, online payments, or other methods.
- Post all AR payments and ensure accurate application to customer accounts.
- Prepare and make bank deposits as needed.
- Follow up with customers on overdue accounts to ensure timely collection.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, providing clear and courteous support.
- File all AR documentation appropriately.
General Accounting Support:
- Assist in month-end procedures related to both AP and AR functions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Support the finance team with other accounting-related tasks as needed.
