Job Summary

The New Boat Salesperson is responsible for providing an exceptional buying experience by understanding and meeting customer needs, guiding them through the boat selection process, and facilitating the sales transaction. This role involves a high level of customer interaction, knowledge of boats and marine products, and the ability to close sales effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by providing excellent service and guidance. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and preferences with professionalism and empathy. Ensure a pleasant and informative buying experience for all customers.

Sales: Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively promoting and selling new boats and related products. Utilize a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and recommend suitable boats and accessories. Conduct on-water demonstrations as required.

Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest boats, marine products, and industry trends. Attend manufacturer-sponsored training sessions and workshops to enhance product expertise and sales skills.

Lead Management: Generate new leads through networking, events, and referrals. Follow up onleads promptly and efficiently. Utilize the dealership's lead management systems to track interactions and sales progress.

Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote new boats and special offers. Participate in boat shows, open houses, and other promotional events to attract potential customers.

Customer Satisfaction: Monitor and strive to improve customer satisfaction levels. Address any post-sale concerns or issues to ensure a positive ownership experience.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other sales team members and dealership departments to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation. Share best practices and support team goals.

Requirements:

  • Proven sales experience, preferably in the marine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of boats and marine products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers and understand their needs.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to achieve sales targets.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and attend events as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to conduct on-water boat demonstrations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in sales or marine-related fields is a plus.

Remuneration:

Base + Commission, Range 75,000 – 125 000
