We are seeking a reliable and skilled Forklift Operator/Yard Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other heavy machinery, as well as supporting various yard and maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to transport boats and equipment within the dealership yard.
- Assist with loading and unloading boats onto trailers and into water, ensuring secure and safe handling at all times.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the yard, including storage areas and boat displays.
- Assist with general yard maintenance tasks such as landscaping, painting, and minor repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with sales and service teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of boats and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, and actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist customers with the movement of boats and equipment as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery in a marine or similar environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification recommended.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends and overtime as needed.
